April 4th
|
| On April 4th, 1968 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated while he was courageously standing up for the sanitation workers’ rights in Memphis, Tennessee. On April 4th, 2011 over 1,200 events—teach-ins, rallies, faith services, vigils, etc.-- were reported worldwide from Mongolia to Illinois to commemorate Dr. King and show solidarity with workers who are facing the same attacks on their rights as workers did decades ago. Across the country union members, people of faith, civil and human rights activists, students, and other progressive allies joined together with the same message, “We Are One”.
Here are picture of our Rally and Candlelight Vigil at City Park in Denver, CO. |
